Kitchener Pioneer Lion’s Club Supports SkateABLE™

The Kitchener Pioneer Lion’s Club has made a generous donation allowing us to subsidize the registration fee for all skaters in our fall 2016 Waterloo program. A big thank you goes out to the Kitchener Pioneer Lion’s Club for making it possible for children in our community to learn how to skate this spring!

On May 1, 2016, SkateABLE™ officially moved into a new office space at 108 Ahrens St. W in Kitchener. The new location provide the space needed for families to be properly fitted for equipment, and for our board members to meet. President of SkateABLE™, Lisa Himmelman, will work on-site part-time and handle the day-to-day operations.  

For a second year in a row, TMMC has generously donated funding, allowing SkateABLE™ to subsidize the cost of training for all new volunteers. As a HIGH FIVE® registered organization, SkateABLE™ volunteers have the opportunity to receive two certifications on completion of the volunteer orientation; HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development, and HIGH FIVE® Healthy Minds for Healthy Children.
