SkateABLE™ offers a unique opportunity for all persons with disabilities to learn how to skate through the use of adaptive skating equipment, including skating walkers and harnesses specifically designed for the SkateABLE program and manufactured right here in Ontario.

All SkateABLE™ leaders have been specially trained on how to fit and use each piece properly and safely.

Through generous donations from various sponsors and supporters, SkateABLE™ has been able to build a small inventory of adaptive equipment for exclusive use in the SkateABLE™ program. Skater’s are provided the equipment at no extra charge. All skater’s will be evaluated and fitted for proper equipment prior to the first class.

All skaters participating in SkateABLE™ programs must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet, and a sturdy pair of skates. Equipment checks will be done each day by our equipment manager to ensure safety on the ice.

All skater’s are responsible for providing their own skates and helmet.
