TMMC Supports Volunteer Training Opportunities
For a second year in a row, TMMC has generously donated funding, allowing SkateABLE™ to subsidize the cost of training for all new volunteers.
As a HIGH FIVE® registered organization, SkateABLE™ volunteers have the opportunity to receive two certifications on completion of the volunteer orientation; HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development, and HIGH FIVE® Healthy Minds for Healthy Children.
Volunteers also learn about disability awareness, adaptive skating equipment, skating skills teaching techniques, and positive behaviour management techniques.
Thanks to TMMC, we can be sure that all SkateABLE™ volunteers are properly trained and have the competence and confidence to ensure our skaters succeed.
